Mark Hamilton:
Plus power in a nice looking left-handed swing. He is a big
strong player that plays a pretty good first base. He also
pitched, but his future will be determined by his bat. If he
works a little on his body, he would be just that much more
intriguing. His power potential is very interesting to say the
least. He should be followed closely.

Times-Picayunne 9/19/2002:
TULANE BASEBALL GETS COMMITMENT: Mark Hamilton of Bellaire,
Texas, has committed to Tulane and is expected to sign with
the Green Wave during the early signing period, which begins
Nov. 14. Hamilton, a 6-foot-3 left-hander and senior at
Episcopal High, was selected to play in the Goodwill Series
against Japan this summer in Long Beach, Calif. He batted .498
with 52 RBIs and seven home runs last season at Episcopal. He
plays first base and pitches.
Xavier Paul:
Paul signs with Dodgers
Slidell outfielder Xavier Paul signed a minor-league
contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Paul, a Tulane signee,
was a fourth-round selection in the baseball draft two weeks
ago. Paul was an All-District, All-St. Tammany, All-Metro and
All-State selection after hitting .394 with six home runs for
Slidell this season.
Chris
Worster This is South Florida’s answer to Drysdale/Koufax
or at least Everts/Kazmir as far as high school righty/lefty
combinations are concerned. Worster has early-pick potential
all the way. His body is ideal for a pitcher as is his
arm-action. He threw consistently 88-90 MPH and showed the
makings of a big league curveball and change-up. Worster also
showed a precocious pitchability (like Maine) and the courage
to throw inside. He’s all-around solid, with the potential
for much more, though none of his “tools” jump out just
yet.

Worster Named Top
Pitching Prospect
Right-hander Chris Worster (Yellow
Jackets) was named the tournaments top pitching
prospect. Worster put on a display that will surely vault him
up even higher on scouting lists. Topping out at 93 mph and
living in the 90s has a tendency to draw a lot of interest.
His breaking ball was also outstanding. Worster looks even
bigger than the 6'3 listed in the roster.

Phillip Stringer:
Stringer has steadily climbed the ladder at SS with good
instincts and outstanding actions that allow him to utilize
his athleticism in the field. He can swing the bat and is
extremely quick to the ball. He's gotten stronger in the last
4 months too.

Daniel
Latham: Good tall and thin projectable pitchers
body with broad shoulders. He showed good command of an 85 mph
fastball and a live change-up. He also showed a 12-6 curve
with a nice late break.
