Bill Hood 7 (4-0), Austin Baseball Club 2 (2-2)

RHP Jonathan Garrett ('04, St. Paul's HS, Mandeville, LA) threw a complete game 3-hitter and Bill Hood broke open a close game with a 4-run 6th inning as they moved to 4-0 in pool play with a 7-2 victory over Austin Baseball Club. Bill Hood had managed just 1 hit off Austin RHP Kye Kolar ('03, Virginia) entering the 6th inning, an Rbi double by RF Grayden Greiner ('03, Tulane) in the first inning, but had scratched together 3 runs through walks and Austin fielding miscues. Rbi doubles in the 6th by SS Brandon Rousseve (Meridian CC), CF Brandon Belcher ('03, Alabama) and LF Charlie Kingery ('03, McNeese State) put the game out of reach, though. Austin's offensive effort was highlighted by 3B Nick Peoples ('03, Texas), who had a 2 Rbi triple in the 3rd inning.

Matt Riser:
